Purpose for the processing

Reskill Revolution is an inclusive, innovative international EU project with 8 partners, one affiliated entity, and 14 associated partners focusing on creating a training ecosystem for adult education in the field of tourism.

The objective of the project is to develop training to improve especially green and digital skills to support eg. the EU Labor Shortages Action Plan, The European Pillar of Social Rights, and The European Skills Agenda.

The project develops skills tests, sustainability evaluations for SMEs, micro training on non-formal, VET and HE levels on skills that are needed to work in jobs in tourism. Other skills to be trained include, for instance, intrapreneurship and leadership, soft and practical as well as professional skills.

Legal basis of processing of personal data

Personal data is processed on the following basis in accordance with Article 6 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation: scientific research in the public interest, legitimate interest of the data controller, informed consent of the data subject, and in some cases, performance of an agreement to which the data subject is a party.

Categories of personal data

During the project, both direct (i.e. name, email, photo) and indirect (i.e age, hometown, occupation) personal data will be collected if necessary.

Sources of Personal data

If necessary, personal data (i.e. name, gender) may be collected during research activities (i.e. interviews, workshops). Additionally, consortium partners may share and combine personal data from their other legitimate sources and databases to support the project objectives.

Recipients of personal data

Personal data may be transferred to project group participants, authorized subcontractors, and new project partners as necessary for project implementation.

Third countries to which data is transferred

Personal data may be transferred outside the EU or EEA countries to subcontractors and project partners, but only within the EU legal framework through appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions, binding corporate rules (BCRs), or standard contractual clauses.

Rights of data subject

You can obtain information about whether your personal data is processed, and which personal data is processed. If there are any inaccuracies or errors in the processing of your personal data, you have the right to request your personal data to be rectified or supplemented.

You can object to data processing on the basis of a specific personal situation. However, there is no right to object if the processing is necessary to perform a task in the public interest.

You can file a complaint with the data protection authority if you believe that your personal data has been processed in violation of data protection legislation.

If the processing of personal data in research does not require the identification without additional information of the data subject and the data subject cannot be identified from the material, then the right to access, correct, erase and restrict processing does not apply.

If the rights prevent the achievement of the research purpose or make it very difficult, in certain individual cases these rights may be derogate on the grounds set out in the Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act. The need to derogate from the rights is always assessed on a case-by-case basis.

The contact person in matters related to the data subject’s rights is the data protection officer. Laurea’s data protection officer is Marjo Valjakka, marjo.valjakka@laurea.fi
